There for they sugest their XTP MAG since they have thicker casings around the lead. I picked up the Ruger and the accuracy rivaled or bettered the AR and when I stepped up the loads beyond what was recommended for the AR I picked up another 250fps over factory ammo and the Ruger never broke a sweat.

I have the Ruger with the 16″ barrel and have had good luck with both the Winchester deer season and Hornady ammo, not Hornady black but from what I hear they are both the exact same bullet.

Ill has us beat there . 450 B does about the same at 50 yards, yet has energy and it is accurate and flat out beyond 200 yards- unthinkable for a cannonball out of a shotgun. If you want heavy bullets and lots of choices from 250 - 500 grain the 45-70 is your choice. Try using a timer between shots mag and no mag.

I wouldn’t build one of those either, as the large amount of case taper in the X39 is much more suited to a heavily curved magazine that rocks backward to lock home, like the AK or Ruger mini rifles do.

Winchesters .450 Bushmaster ammunition is a great choice for deer hunting. Wow, if I listened to your advice and half the comments on here I wouldn’t have gone with a .450 Bushmaster AR. All good choices for a great hunting/vehicle defense round, although the arx doesn’t sound good against vehicles. The Hornaday and was he Underwood hunter loadings give. With 7.62X39 out of the question, I think that is still about the most that one can open up an AR bolt, at .447 inch.
