Once you find the leak and repair it, ... (cannot remember what chevy uses).. but it would usually require the compressor to be eating itself up or have a large amount of debris in the system to cause that. However they do not issue a recall for the problem which should have be done and many people agree on this issue because the part which is the condinser is a critical part in the air condition system. Now, I think I figured something that is related to causing this problem. They have a warranty/guarantee to fix it free of charge if it starts messing up again. I just turned it on again for the first time after winter and nothing, it doesnt even sound like my compressor is engaging.

The AC condenser looks similar to a radiator and works in conjunction with the radiator fan(s). Can you check to see if the compressor is still engaged when it quits cooling?

I replaced the condenser and reciever dryer (since the system was unpressurized) and then pay a professional to evacuate the system and recharge it.

There was a lawsuit for this same issue for my year of truck and they are saying im not in the group. I looked online and it seems there are multiple complaints about the condenser malfunctioning. almost everybody with these models and year of trucks have issues with the ac, it's time to fix the problems now!!. The failure mileage was 68,000. Wondering how much it'll cost to take your ride in for a tune-up?
They said there is a code that is telling them that electricity is not making it to the ac components. Ive never really dealt with ac components before, so this is kinda new to me. I was driving when this happened.
. I don't work on car systems much ,but in commercial and industrial a/c systems I pull the refrigerant out and pressure test with dry nitrogen.
Rather than take it in, I've decided to do my best to figure out what's going on. This first happened when I got off of work and tried my to use my air conditioning. Problem with the a/c unit not staying cold. System indicated it needed 25.6 oz. AC not working in 2010 Silverado. The most common causes of broken air conditioning are leaks or compressor issues. I had a problem like this on a customer truck it had been an oilfield truck and up and down dirt roads.long story short could not find any thing in the scan tool his truck like yours was an 04 and had the cluster problems where some gauges work and most didn't ordered new stepper motors and resoldered them all in also noticed on the back there were many other ones that needed to be soldered did all those put it back together and bam the a/c fixed it-self trying to figure out why i did some research and it has to do with the can/bus module controlling everything if there are not good connections with everything it messes with everything that is in the dash.
